§ 31.33 DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS.
   (A)   Office created; appointment. There is hereby created the position of Director of Public Works, an executive position of the village. The Director of Public Works shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. In the event of the vacancy of the position of Director of Public Works all references within the Village of Maryville Code of Ordinances to Director of Public Works or Public Works Director, shall also mean Street Superintendent, Water and Sewer Superintendent or Mayor’s designee.
   (B)   Duties. The Director of Public Works shall be responsible for the supervision and management of the Water and Sewer Department, the Street Department, all public works projects and such other duties presented by the Mayor and Village Board. The Director of Public Works shall report to the Mayor.
   (C)   Qualifications. The Director of Public Works shall possess and maintain the qualifications and credentials required by law.
   (D)   Compensation. The salary for the Director of Public Works shall be determined annually by the President and Board of Trustees.
