§ 13-301.   Definitions.
   PEDDLER - any person who shall engage in peddling as hereinafter defined.
   PEDDLING - engaging in selling, peddling, soliciting or taking of orders, either by sampling or otherwise, for any goods, wares or merchandise, including subscriptions for magazines or other printed matter, the obtaining of contracts for home and building devices, repairs and improvements and the securing of contributions to various causes and organizations, from house to house, or door to door or from business to business or upon any street or sidewalk in the Borough or by a telephone within the Borough; provided, the word "peddler" shall not apply to religious proselytizing, anonymous political speech, distribution of handbills and the following: [Ord. 553]
      A.   Farmers selling their own produce.
      B.   Those selling goods, wares and merchandise, donated by the owners thereof, the proceeds whereof are to applied to any charitable or philanthropic purpose.
      C.   To any manufacturer or producer in the sale of bread or bakery products, except that the term "milk or milk products" shall not include or apply to ice cream or other frozen desserts.
      D.   To boys or girls under 18 years of age who take orders for and deliver newspapers, greeting cards, candy and the like or who represent the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts or similar organizations and take orders for and deliver cookies and the like.
      E.   To any person who works for an organization which has registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State, as required by 10 P.S.§162.1, et seq., known as the Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act.
   PERSON - any natural person, association, partnership, firm or corporation.
