§ 13-202.   Definitions.
The following words, terms and/or phrases when used in this Part within the scope of this Part shall have the following meanings:
   JUNKYARD - any place where scrap materials or used materials, or waste materials, including materials deemed recyclable under any applicable law, or salvaged equipment parts or salvaged equipment, machinery or parts or materials of any kind are stored, accumulated, treated, processed or otherwise handled whether for resale, recycling or disposal.    JUNKED MOTOR VEHICLES - wrecked, scrapped, ruined, dismantled or junked motor vehicles, trailers or semi-trailers, which are substantially intact except for the removal of salvaged parts and whether or not are mechanically inoperable and for which repair is economically unfeasible. [Ord. 553]
   OPERATOR - any person, firm or corporation, partnership or group of individuals who as owner, operator, manager or person in charge shall conduct or maintain, or have under his, their or its supervision a junkyard within the meaning of this Part.
   SALVAGE YARD - any establishment or place of business which is maintained, used or operated for storing, keeping, buying or selling salvage. The term shall not include:
      A.   A scrap metal processing facility.
      B.   Any tract or lot adjacent to a manufacturing or processing business where salvage is stored on an interim basis pending the final disposition of the same in the normal operation of such business.
      C.   Lots maintained by a dealer (as defined by the State Vehicle Code).
      D.   Salvage, all of which is stored or accumulated inside a wholly self-enclosed building or other structure.

   VISIBLE - capable of being seen by a person of normal visual acuity traversing thee nearest adjacent street or any adjacent property. [Ord. 553]
