252.10  RESIGNATIONS; NOTICE.
   No Chief of Police or other police officer shall resign from his or her office without giving ten days notice in writing, of his or her intention to resign, in writing, to the Mayor.  The Chief of Police or other police officer withdrawing and refusing to perform his or her duties within ten days of such notice shall forfeit all back pay and shall forever thereafter be barred from holding the office of Chief of Police or police officer.
