(A) The Chief of Police shall recommend to the City Council the placement of traffic-control signs, signals and devices when and as required under this chapter and other traffic ordinances of this city to make effective the provisions thereof and may recommend the placement of additional traffic-control devices as he or she may deem necessary to regulate traffic under this chapter and other ordinances of this city or under state law, or to guide or warn traffic.
(B) The City Council has determined that traffic-control devices are necessary at the locations shown in the traffic schedules adopted by reference in § 72.01.
