Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prevent the ordinary maintenance of any exterior architectural feature or landscaping of a landmark or a building, structure, or object within a historical district which does not involve a change in design, material or exterior appearance. Replacement or repair using the same or comparable materials, is included ordinary maintenance. New colors may be included as ordinary maintenance, as long as the new color is in keeping with the historical aspect of the property.
