Any violation of the terms of this chapter may be punished by a fine not to exceed $500; except, however, any violation of a rule that pertains to fire safety, zoning, or public health and sanitation, including the dumping of refuse, may be punished by a find not to exceed $2,000. The provisions of this section shall be subject to any future amendment of Tex. Loc. Gov't Code, § 54.001.
