The use of any engine brake, compression brake, dynamic braking device, or mechanical exhaust device to brake or slow any motor vehicle that results in excessive, loud, unusual or explosive noise from such vehicle, except for the aversion of imminent danger, is prohibited. Emergency vehicles are exempt from the application of this section.
