§ 33.006 SERVICE OF WARRANTS AND OTHER PROCESSES.
   Each member of the police force shall have power and authority, in the city, to serve and execute warrants and other processes for the apprehension and commitment of persons charged with any crime held for examination or trial or taken in execution or the commission of any crime or misdemeanor. No member of the Police Department shall serve any civil process, except where the city is a party, or do any other business or service that will interfere with his or her duties as a police officer.
