§ 33.005 POLICE OFFICERS; GENERAL DUTIES.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of every member of the Police Department to promptly obey and carry out all lawful demands or commands of his or her superior, and any member of the Department who may be suspended, as by law provided, shall receive no pay or compensation during the period of suspension.
   (B)   It shall be the duty of each member of the police force to lawfully arrest all persons in the city found in the act of violating any law or ordinance, or aiding or abetting an any such violation, or any person whom the officer has reasonable grounds for believing has committed a public offense and who is likely to escape before a complaint can be filed and a warrant issued for his or her arrest.
