§ 91.12 IMPOUNDMENT PROCEDURE.
   (A)   A police officer shall restrain and impound domestic animals in a place or pound as may be designated and set apart for that purpose.
   (B)   The police officer or veterinarian receiving such domestic animal pursuant to this section shall record the breed, color, sex and if known, the name of such domestic animal and the name and address of the owner. Notice of any impounded annual shall be filed with the office of the City Clerk. Notice shall also be given to the owner or keeper of such animal, if known. Any domestic animal so impounded shall be retained and shall receive proper care for a period of no less than 72 hours after notice shall have been given as provided herein or posted at the City Hall by the City Clerk. At the expiration of said 72 hours if the domestic animal has not been redeemed, it shall be destroyed.
   (C)   At any time within the 72-hour period the owner or keeper of such domestic animal impounded shall have the right to recover the possession of such animal by paying all expenses of the impounded animal. Any dog impounded may be released by paying all expenses, showing proof that the dog is licensed and showing proof of a current inoculation for rabies current rabies. If the dog is not licensed, it must be licensed at a late license fee of $75.
