§ 91.03 DOG LICENSES.
   (A)   License required. Any owner or keeper who harbors or keeps a dog in the City of Marseilles shall obtain a license for each such dog. Any newborn dog shall be licensed no later than 12 months after birth.
   (B)   Date. Licenses shall be issued and renewed in May of each year. Licenses shall be issued without cost.
   (C)   Requirement for license. The applicant for a license shall provide proof from a licensed veterinarian that the dog is currently inoculated for rabies. Each license shall have a renewal date in May. If the rabies vaccination extends for more than one year, the renewal date may extend more than one year provided the vaccination period extends to the renewal date. The applicant shall provide his or her name, address, name of the dog, the breed, sex, color and any other identifying characteristics of the dog. The applicant shall also provide a telephone number where someone may be called in the event the dog is running at large, is impounded, or has bitten or threatened to bite someone.
   (D)   Tag. All dogs must wear a tag issued by the City of Marseilles or supplied by the owner or keeper identifying the registration number of the license issued by the City of Marseilles.
   (E)   Lost tag. The city will issue a lost tag at a cost of $10.
