(A) Creation of office. There is hereby created and established the office of Health Officer.
(B) Duties. The Health Officer shall be under the direction and supervision of the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, and shall perform such duties and superintend such work as the Commissioner may direct. He shall be a regular practicing physician, and shall give the Board of Health and other city authorities such professional advice and information as they may require with a view to the preservation of the public health.
(C) Bond. The Health Officer shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, execute a bond to the city in the penal sum of $500, with such sureties as the City Council shall approve, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his office, and shall also take and subscribe the oath prescribed by law for city officers.
