§ 75.10 SCOPE AND EFFECT OF SIZE, WEIGHT, AND LOAD REGULATIONS.
   (A)   Non-designated streets. Except for designated streets identified in this section, all streets in the city shall be considered non-designated roads as contemplated under Illinois Vehicle Code §§ 1-126.1(d) and 15-111 with weight limits as identified in § 15-111. The Commissioner of Street and Public Improvements may, from time to time, establish temporary lesser weight limits on any city street by posting appropriate regulatory signs giving notice of reduced weight limitations.
   (B)   Truck Routes. Notwithstanding the prohibition contained in division (A) of this section, motor vehicles, the gross weight of which does not exceed 80,000 pounds, may be operated upon the following designated truck routes:
      (1)   Commercial Street;
      (2)    Bluff Street ( also known as U.S. Route 6);
      (3)   East Broadway Street from Milton Road (2575th Road) to Gum Creek;
      (4)   Main Street;
      (5)   Milton Road (2575th Road) from Route 6 to East Broadway Street; and
      (6)   Rutland Street (also known as County Highway 15).
   (C)   Designated streets. No combination truck tractor and semitrailer or combination truck trailer and pole trailer as such terms are defined by the Illinois Vehicle Code is allowed on the following designated streets:
      (1)   Broadway Street from main Street to Chicago Street;
      (2)   Chicago Street;
      (3)   Church Street;
      (4)   Howard Street; and
      (5)   Washington Street from Aurora to Jefferson Street.
   (D)   Penalties. The driver or owner of a vehicle may be charged with a violation of this section and upon conviction shall be subject to a fine of $1,000. In addition to the fines, a driver or owner of a vehicle shall be liable to the city or responsible for all costs incurred that require the city to remove spills or repair damages to the city streets.
