§ 35.29 CLOTHING ALLOWANCES.
   (A)   On May 1, each full-time and certain permanent part-time employees of the city except those covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the city shall be credited with a clothing allowance. This allowance is used for the purchase of apparel, which is used in the performance of the employee’s duties. Allowances for each department are as follows:
      (1)   Office personnel (full-time): $400 per employee;
      (2)   WWTF, Water & Street Superintendent: $450 per employee; and
      (3)   Police Chief, Captain and Lieutenants: $600 per employee.
   (B)   None of the sums paid to or on behalf of an employee pursuant to this provision shall be included in the employee’s base salary. The clothing allowance for new hires shall be pro-rated as follows: For each month hired prior to May 1, the employee will be allowed 8-1/2% of the scheduled clothing allowance. For example, an employee hired on August 15 would receive nine months (August to April, inclusive) times 8.5% times the allotted allowance, or 76.5% of the annual clothing allowance.
