(A) Street and Water Department employees may be credited with six-month's experience for each year of full-time experience with another Street or Water Department up to a maximum of five-years experience credit. Previous experience must be compatible with the job that employee is hired for. These credited years of service are for the purposes of determining wages only.
(B) Credit may also be given for experience in the construction trades. This type of credit will be subject to the commissioner's discretion.
(C) One year of credit will be given to an employee if he or she has obtained a CDL prior to his or her employment by the city, has a safe driving record, and has not failed a drug or alcohol test in the past.
