(A) The city recognizes and observes nine paid holidays per year. The regular paid holidays are:
(1) New Year’s Day
(2) Memorial Day
(3) Independence Day
(4) Labor Day
(5) Veteran’s Day
(6) Thanksgiving Day
(7) Day After Thanksgiving
(8) Christmas Eve Day
(9) Christmas Day
(B) The holiday is defined as the actual day the city observes the holiday and shall be from 12:00 a.m. on the observed day until the following midnight.
(C) Any employee eligible for holiday pay that is scheduled off on a holiday will be credited for eight hours of holiday pay. Any employee that actually works on a city-observed holiday will receive the eight hours of holiday pay and will also receive hour for hour compensation at one and one-half times the employee’s hourly rate of pay for the time actually worked. The time actually worked will also be used for the calculation of overtime pay as described elsewhere in this chapter. Holiday pay will be paid at the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate.
