§ 35.18 PERSONAL LEAVE TIME.
   (A)   Each employee will be granted six days or 48 hours of personal leave time each fiscal year for personal business and the time shall be credited at the beginning of each fiscal year. Personal leave time will be accounted for each year in hours. Personal leave time may not be accumulated from year to year, and there shall be no compensation paid to any employee for unused personal leave time.
   (B)   The minimum increment of time that can be used for personal leave time is one-half day or four hours and six hours.
   (C)   Employees hired during the period May 1 through July 31 shall receive two and one-half days of personal leave time. Employees hired during the period August 1 through October 31 will be granted three days of personal leave time. Employees hired during the period November 1 through January 31, will be granted two days of personal leave time, and employees hired during the period February 1 through April 30 will receive one day of personal leave time.
   (D)   Each employee shall notify their supervisor that they are requesting the use of a personal day. Enough notice should be given so that the respective department may schedule alternate work assignments.
   (E)   Personal time off cannot be used for time off required as the result of criminal activity or illegal acts, including, but not limited to, traffic violations.
