Each police officer shall have police powers and authority as provided by the Statutes of the State and the ordinances of the City. Such officers shall enforce all ordinances of the City and laws of the State, and shall arrest, with or without warrant, according to the Statutes of the State and ordinances of this City, all persons who may violate any of said laws of the State or ordinances of this City. They shall perform all other duties which they may be directed to perform either by the Chief of Police, his next in command, or any appropriate commanding officer. (Ord. 396, 1-8-1990)
