7-1-5: DUTIES OF SECRETARY AND TREASURER:
   A.   The secretary shall keep the minutes of the regular meetings of the fire department, shall be custodian of the minute book and all papers pertaining to the business of the department, keep a record of all training completed by each member of the department and shall perform such other duties as the chief shall prescribe.
   B.   The treasurer shall receive all monies collected for and on behalf of the department, including the tax or license fee for foreign fire insurance 1 , and shall pay the same, upon order of the Chief, for the purposes of maintenance, use and benefit of the department. The Treasurer shall also make a report every month to the department on the status of the department's finances and on the third Monday of January in each year, submit a verified report and financial statement to the City Council, showing receipts, disbursements and the balance of proceeds on hand. The books, records and accounts of the Treasurer shall at all times be open to inspection and for audit by the City Council.
Before performing the duties of his office, the Treasurer shall be required to execute and file with the Office of City Clerk, a bond in an amount approved by the City Council to ensure faithful performance of his duties under this chapter. (Ord. 847, 12-14-2015)
