5-2-6: ACCESSORY BUILDINGS:
In addition to all other regulations governing the size, location and use of accessory buildings, the following regulations shall also apply:
   A.   No Quonset hut style accessory building may be constructed or located in either the A single-family dwelling district or in the B single-family larger homes district.
   B.   No accessory building having a metal exterior may be constructed or located in either the A single-family dwelling district or the B single-family larger homes district unless the entire exterior of the building is finished with a durable factory applied paint. Any portion of such metal exterior which deteriorates as a result of damage, weathering or aging shall be promptly repaired. Such repair shall include the application of matching paint.
   C.   No freestanding metal framed carport or other similar freestanding metal framed structure may be constructed or located in either the A single-family dwelling district or in the B single-family larger homes district; provided, however, that this limitation shall not apply to:
      1.   Temporary structures such as tents which are left in place for a total period of not more than ten (10) days in any calendar year; or
      2.   Screened enclosures or shade tents designed solely for human occupancy, but only if located in a rear yard. (Ord. 580, 5-22-2000)
   D.   No storage or shipping container shall be used as an accessory building. No storage or shipping container shall be located in either the A single-family dwelling district or the B single-family larger homes district for a total of more than sixty (60) calendar days during any period of one hundred eighty (180) consecutive calendar days.
      1.   For purposes of this section, a "storage or shipping container" is any walk-in wheel-less enclosed structure designed or used for the purpose of transporting multiple items of personal property from one location to another. Characteristics of a storage or shipping container include, but are not limited to, integrated support structures allowing for the lifting of the container by a forklift or crane and a flat top upon which other similar containers may be stacked and safely supported.
