(A) Prior to taking any abandoned or junked motor vehicle into custody and possession from private property, the town shall give the private property owner and the owner of said motor vehicle, if ascertainable, 30 days’ notice by registered or certified mail that such action will be taken.
(B) Nothing in this subchapter or section shall be construed to prevent the town from removing a junked or abandoned motor vehicle from public property owned by the town.
