(A) There is hereby created the position of Human Resources Generalist.
(B) The Human Resources Generalist shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Appointment to this position created by ordinance may be made from time to time.
(C) The duties of the person appointed to the position of Human Resources Generalist shall include, but not be limited to: maintaining all personnel records for the city; assisting with employment recruitment; preparing and submitting payroll to the Treasurer’s office; maintaining the city’s human resources information systems; creating and maintaining electronic human resources forms; maintaining employee benefits information; developing and conducting employee training; processing worker’s compensation claims and assisting with insurance and safety matters; drafting human resources policies and procedures; completing compliance reports; attending seminars, conferences and meetings relating to human resources issues; assisting with creating a human resources department budget; attending City Council, department, safety and training and other meetings, as needed; following safe practices; and learning rules, regulations, laws, policies and procedures relating to employees.
(D) The Human Resources Generalist shall perform such other duties as may be assigned or delegated by the Human Resources Director or Mayor.
(E) The Human Resources Generalist shall be a full-time position and receive as compensation for services performed such sum as set from time to time by ordinance.
