§ 31.358 INSPECTOR GENERAL.
   (A)   There is hereby created the position of Inspector General.
   (B)   The Inspector General shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Appointment to this position created by ordinance may be made from time to time.
   (C)   The duties of the person appointed to the position of Inspector General shall include, but not be limited to: reviewing and reporting on the management and operation of each department; providing recommendations and information on how to promote economy, efficiency and effectiveness within each department; receiving complaints alleging wrongful acts or omissions by employees and determine whether the information contained in those complaints allege facts that give reasonable cause to investigate further; detecting, investigating, deterring and preventing fraud, waste and abuse within each department; providing periodic analyses, evaluations and appraisals of each department; and providing information on issues and deficiencies relating to compliance with each department’s rules, regulations, laws, policies and procedures.
   (D)   The Inspector General shall perform such other duties as may be assigned or delegated by the Mayor.
   (E)   The Inspector General shall receive as compensation for services performed such sum as set from time to time by ordinance.
