(A) The Mayor may appoint an Administrative Assistant who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and perform the following duties:
(1) The Mayor’s Administrative Assistant, subject to the direction and control of the Mayor, shall supervise the administrative management of all city boards, commissions and other city agencies established by the ordinances of the city and the laws of the state;
(2) In addition to such supervisory power, the Mayor’s administrative assistant may, in respect to any or all agencies under this supervision, establish reporting procedures, require the submission of progress reports and provide for the coordination of the activities of such agencies;
(3) The Administrative Assistant shall make periodic reports with recommendations to the Mayor concerning the administrative management of all boards, commissions and agencies of the city;
(4) The Administrative Assistant shall preserve and keep in the Mayor’s office all books and papers which are customarily filed or required by law to be filed therein; shall deliver to the City Council and the respective department of the city, all messages from the Mayor in writing and attend the Mayor’s office during the usual office hours; and
(5) The Administrative Assistant shall perform such other administrative and executive functions as may be delegated by the Mayor.
(B) The Mayor’s Administrative Assistant shall receive as compensation for services performed such sum as shall be set from time to time by ordinance.
