(A) There is hereby created the position of Public Works Secretary.
(B) The Secretary shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Appointment to this position created by ordinance may be made from time to time.
(C) The person appointed to the position of Public Works Secretary shall have a high school diploma or GED supplemented training in business and secretarial work or a combination of training and experience which provided equivalent knowledge, abilities and skills. In addition, the person shall have a thorough knowledge of business, grammar, math, computers (word processing and data spreadsheets), secretarial/office practice and procedures and the ability to effectively communicate with the public and solve department related problems.
(D) The Public Works Secretary shall type correspondence and reports, utilize telephone system to make, receive and respond to telephone calls, handle inquiries and complaints, prepare, maintain and submit required reports, log information and documentation into ledgers, schedule water samplings, serve as a Deputy Election Registrar and assist the window clerk when necessary.
(E) The Pubic Works Secretary shall perform such other duties as may be assigned or delegated by the Superintendent of Public Works or Mayor.
(F) The Pubic Works Secretary shall receive as compensation for services performed such sum as set from time to time by ordinance.
