§ 120.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CONTRACTOR. Any person, partnership, corporation, or other business entity engaged in the business of constructing, altering or repairing buildings or other structures or lots and all trades and crafts associated with such work, including, but restricted to, general building contractors, excavating contractors, landscape contractors, tree removal, fence contractors, snow plowing contractors, cement or concrete contractors, asphalt contractors, masonry contractors, carpentry contractors, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors and subcontractors.
      (1)   Any person who engages in the construction, repair or alteration of any building or structure within the city for which a building permit is required, is presumed to be a CONTRACTOR, and must be licensed hereunder unless such presumption is rebutted.
      (2)   A homeowner engaged in constructing, altering, or repairing his, her or their personal residence or lot shall not be considered a CONTRACTOR for purposes of this chapter.
   GENERAL CONTRACTOR. A contractor who uses one or more trades or subcontractors to perform the required construction to complete any project for which a building permit is required.
   HOMEOWNER. A person or trust that has purchased a property with the intention of making it his, her or their primary residence for a period of at least six months. Corporation or other business entities listed as beneficiaries shall not be considered homeowners.
   PERSON. A living human being also known as a natural person.
   SUBCONTRACTORS. A contractor who performs only that type of work that is classified as a trade (for example plumbing, electrical, and the like).
