(A) There is created the office of Director of Building and Housing who shall, head the Building and Housing Department. Every reference to “Building Inspector” and “Director of the Department of Housing” in the ordinances of the city shall be replaced with the new title of “Director of Building and Housing”.
(B) The Director of Building and Housing shall be appointed by the Mayor. The Building and Housing Department shall consist of a Plumbing Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Heating and Ventilation Inspector, Board of Examiners and Appeals, assistants, clerical employees and such other officers and employees, as the City Council may provide by ordinance. All officers and employees of the Building and Housing Department shall be under the direction of supervision of the Director of Building and Housing and shall perform such duties as may be required of them by the Director of Building and Housing, or as set forth by ordinance.
