For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
HARDWARE AND/OR APPLIANCE STORE. Any building, room, enclosure or establishment operated, maintained or conducted for the sale or offering for sale at retail hardware, tinware, aluminumware and other manufactured articles of metal, cutlery, tools, implements, auto supplies, plumbing, paints and electrical fixtures and appliances.
WHOLESALE. Except where specifically given a different meaning, sales for the purpose of resale, or for use by manufacturers, contractors, trades and institutions, or for the supplying of branch or general establishments from a central depot or store.
WHOLESALE HARDWARE AND/OR AUTO SUPPLY STORE. Any building, room, enclosure or establishment where hardware, tinware, aluminumware and other manufactured articles of metal, cutlery, tools, implements, auto supplies, plumbing, paints and electrical fixtures are sold, offered for sale or kept with the intention of selling at wholesale in the city.
