(A) It shall be the duty of the Health Officer to execute and enforce all statutes of the state, ordinances of the city and regulations and rules of the Board of Health, relating to health, and to take such other action as is necessary for the promotion and improvement of the public health, not inconsistent with the foregoing statutes, ordinances, rules and regulations.
(B) Subject to the approval of the City Council, the Health Officer shall have the power to appoint and remove and to fix the duties of such employees as may be required to carry out the duties of his or her office.
