§ 114.029 REGULATIONS ON PERSONNEL.
   (A)   No person, while affected with any disease in a communicable form, or while a carrier of such disease, or while afflicted with boils, infected wounds, sores or an acute respiratory infection, shall work in any area in which there is a likelihood of such person contaminating food or food-contact surfaces with pathogenic organisms, or transmitting disease to other individuals; and no person known or suspected of being affected with any such disease or condition shall be employed in such an area or capacity. If the person in charge of the establishment has reason to suspect that any food service establishment employee has contacted any disease in a communicable form or has become a carrier of such disease, he or she shall notify the Health Officer.
   (B)   Any person who works on the premises and engages in food preparation or service, or comes in contact with any food utensils or equipment, shall be required to have a chest X-ray each year to determine if tuberculosis is present.
      (1)   Evidence of a satisfactory chest X-ray examination taken within the last year, showing freedom from active tuberculosis, shall be kept in the establishment where such person is working, and shall be readily available for inspection by the Health Officer. Compliance with this requirement shall be evidenced upon a form approved by the Health Officer and executed by any person, agency or institution qualified to take and read X-ray pictures.
      (2)   No person shall be employed or continued in employment on the premises in any employment which involves his or her engaging in food preparation or service, or his or her coming in contact with any food utensils or equipment, unless evidence of a satisfactory chest X-ray, as required above, is on file in the food service establishment.
      (3)   Any person whose work makes him or her subject to the provisions of this division (B), regarding chest X-rays and who refuses or fails to have such x-ray, shall not be permitted to work in any of the activities for which a satisfactory chest X-ray is required.
   (C)   All employees shall wear clean outer garments, maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness and conform to hygienic practice while on duty. They shall wash their hands thoroughly in an approved handwashing facility before starting work, and as often as may be necessary to remove soil and contamination. No employee shall resume work after visiting the toilet room without first washing his or her hands.
