§ 98.140 POWERS AND DUTIES OF DIRECTOR OF BUILDING AND HOUSING.
   The Director of Building and Housing shall have the following powers and duties:
   (A)   The Director of Building and Housing is authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of this chapter. For such purpose, he or she shall have the powers of a police officer;
   (B)   The Inspector shall submit a report to the City Council not less than once a month, covering his or her work during the preceding period. He or she shall incorporate in the report a summary of his or her recommendations as to desirable amendments to the law;
   (C)   The Inspector shall keep a permanent, accurate account of all fees and other moneys collected and received under this title, the names of the persons upon whose account the same were paid, the date and amount thereof, together with the location of the sidewalk to which they relate; and
   (D)   Whenever any construction is being done contrary to the provisions of this chapter, the Inspector may order the work stopped by notice in writing served on any persons engaged in the doing or causing such work to be done, and any such persons forthwith shall stop the work until authorized by the Inspector to proceed with the work.
