§ 92.28 POUNDKEEPER; RECORDS TO BE KEPT; REDEMPTION OF DOG; FEE.
   (A)   (1)   The Poundkeeper, or designated agency with similar function, immediately upon receiving a licensed dog at the pound, shall report the same by its name, if known, and the number of the tag, if any, to the City Clerk or Chief of Police of the city and to the owner or keeper of the dog.
      (2)   A dog taken and impounded which has not been inoculated as prescribed in this chapter shall be released in accordance with the requirements of this chapter; except that, any dog fee due will be deposited by the owner with the Clerk for registration upon later presentation of the proper rabies inoculation certificates. Presentation of a certificate must take place within a five-day period beginning immediately upon the release of the dog. If no presentation and registration are made within this period, the owner is subject to penalty and shall be fined in accordance with the penalty provisions of this chapter.
   (B)   Every dog taken and impounded, as provided in this chapter, shall be released upon payment to the Clerk, within three days of the time of impounding, the sum of $2 for the first day, plus $1 for each additional day thereafter, as a redemption and impounding fee. A proper and sufficient release and receipt shall be given therefor. No dog which has been inoculated shall be released from the pound unless the city dog fee also has been paid and the tag attached as provided in this chapter. Dogs shall be redeemed from the pound daily between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. or by appointment.
