(A) All hydrants shall be installed on a limestone or gravel bed. The minimum size of this bed shall be ten inches in width, ten inches in length and four inches in depth. No less than eight cubic feet of gravel or limestone shall be used and gravel or limestone must be of sufficient size to pass two-inch screen.
(B) All hydrants shall be buried a minimum of five feet. The distance from the edge of the fire hydrant aboveground to the steamer connection must be not less than 18 inches, nor more than 24 inches.
