§ 35.046 NON-UNION EMPLOYEES’ BENEFITS.
   (A)   Effective 1-1-2004, appointed non-union employees of the city are not eligible for benefits other than salary, vacation at the rate of two weeks per year and sick leave at the rate of two weeks per year, based upon a certificate as to the employee’s inability to work signed by a physician. There shall be no carryover of unused sick or vacation time from year to year.
   (B)   The city will afford the non-union employee, at his or her own expense, an opportunity to participate in the hospitalization insurance program provided to AFSCME union employees on the same terms, with the exception that there will be no contribution toward the cost of such insurance made by the city, provided application is made within the probationary employment period, to become effective upon the successful completion of the probationary period.
   (C)   All vacation, sick leave and other benefits heretofore acquired or accumulated by a currently employed non-union employee under prior rules, regulations and practices shall remain viable and available for use according to the need and requests of the employee.
