(A) The organizational structure of the city’s Fire Department should be revised to eliminate the position of captain and to create an administrative, non-bargaining unit, position to be known as the Deputy Chief of the City Fire Department.
(B) The duties and job description of the position of Deputy Chief of the Fire Department shall be as promulgated from time to time by the Chief Administrative officer of the city’s Fire Department in consultation with the Mayor.
(C) The salary and benefits appertaining to the position of the Deputy Chief of the Fire Department shall be as designated by an appropriate ordinance passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor, according to law.
