Whenever the Director of Building and Housing is acting for the city in the discharge of his or her official duties under this subchapter and shall, by reason of any official, act or in the performance of such duty, be subjected to any suit such suit shall be defended by the City Attorney at the cost of the city until the final determination of the proceedings thereunder.
