Before entering upon the duties of this office, the Director of Building and Housing shall take and subscribe the oath of office and shall execute, acknowledge and deliver to the city a good and sufficient bond with two or more sureties conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his or her office in the penal sum of $5,000. The bond shall meet with the approval of the City Council.
