The Director of Building and Housing shall have: certifications in home inspections, commercial inspections, new construction, blueprint reading and food and sanitation inspections; two to five years of knowledge of construction and plan review or educational equivalent; familiarity with computer applications (Word, Excel and the like) and possess excellent written and verbal communication ability. The Director of Building and Housing must also have good supervisory and customer service skills. Can understand and apply various process, procedures and ordinances. Capable of preparing and tracking budgets and must be able to enforce city codes with firmness and tact.
