Sec. 19-2. Definitions.
   The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
   City arborist means a citizen, consultant, or staff person skilled and trained in forestry that assists the city with maintaining a healthy urban forest.
   Large tree means a large tree growing to over forty (40) feet in height at maturity, usually deciduous that is planted to provide a canopy cover for shade.
   Master tree plan means a written document that guides the work of the urban forestry program.
   Medium tree means a tree growing thirty (30) feet to forty (40) feet in height at maturity.
   Public tree means trees, shrubs, and bushes now or hereafter growing on any public street right-of-way or public land within Marion corporate limits.
   Small tree means a small to medium tree, growing fifteen (15) feet to thirty (30) feet in height at maturity that is planted for aesthetic purposes such as colorful flowers, interesting bark, or fall foliage.
   Street tree means any tree, shrub, and bush on land lying within rights-of-way on either side of all streets, avenues, or ways within the city.
   Urban forest means the collection of shrubs, trees, vegetation, and associated natural features that make up the city tree canopy and the area required for its sustainable growth.
   Urban forestry means the planning, establishment, protection, and management of trees, vegetation, and associated natural features, individually, in small groups, or under forest conditions within the city.
