Sec. 7-40. Key box system.
   (a)   A key box entry system is required in all new and existing commercial and multi-tenant residential structures containing automatic sprinkler systems or fire alarm systems.
   (b)   An authorization order form shall be obtained from the fire department, which identifies the proper size, type, and placement of the key box.
   (c)   The owner/tenant of the business is responsible for all entry keys to be retained in the key box and to be current at all times.
   (d)   For existing commercial and multi-tenant residential structures presently without a key box system but, otherwise containing an automatic sprinkler system and or alarm system prior to the effective date of the ordinance, a key box is not required.
   (e)   Response to the structure shall be provided by the owner or a designated key holder within 15 minutes of the initial alarm for fire department access. This shall be provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If this requirement cannot be met, conformance to the key box system designated and described in this section shall apply.
