Sec. 2-261. Establishment and Authority.
   Pursuant to the authority in G.S. 160D-301, the city council establishes the planning board and gives the board authority to assist in achieving the city's comprehensive plan for orderly growth and development by analyzing, evaluating, and recommending responsible city policies, ordinances, and planning standards that manage development activity. The planning board shall be governed by the terms of G.S. 160D and by the city's land development policies and regulations outlined in Marion Code of Ordinances Part IV Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).
