55.13 ACCESSORY STRUCTURES.
Accessory structures shall not be permitted within any required front yard. On corner lots or double frontage lots, accessory structures shall conform to the required front yard setback regulations for all abutting streets. Accessory buildings, except buildings housing animals or fowl, may be erected as a part of the principal building, or may be connected thereto by a breezeway or similar structure, provided all yard requirements for a principal building are complied with. An accessory building which is not a part of the main building shall not occupy more than thirty percent (30%) of the rear yard and shall not exceed the maximum height permitted by the applicable zoning district regulations and shall be built no less than ten (10) feet from a principal building or any other accessory building; however, this regulation shall not be interpreted to prohibit the construction of a four hundred forty (440) square foot garage on a minimum rear yard.
