§ 76.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   COMPANY. A person or entity that provides, or otherwise makes available to the public, motorized scooters to be used by the public on a temporary basis for payment.
   DEPLOY. All motorized scooters, including those impounded or towed, that are made available by a licensed company for public use.
   MOTORIZED SCOOTER. A conveyance or device propelled by an electric motor, not having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider, with two or more wheels in contact with the ground, and with a floorboard for the user to stand upon which is privately owned or held out for rent and made available for use by members of the public by a company who is licensed with the city. The term does not include the following:
      (1)   A device used to aid a person with a disability recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
      (2)   A bicycle that is motorized or not; or
      (3)   A coaster or skateboard.
