For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE. Commercial vehicle means a motor vehicle used for commercial activity which is licensed by the Secretary of State as a commercial vehicle and has a gross vehicle weight of not less than 6,000 pounds. Recreational-type vehicles or vehicles requiring commercial license plates but not used for a commercial purpose shall not be considered a COMMERCIAL VEHICLE.
