Any individual or corporation licensed under this chapter shall maintain all taxicabs and vehicles for hire in a safe mechanical condition and in compliance with the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code. The Police Department may inspect any taxicab or vehicle for hire to assure compliance with this section.
