For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
SERVICE PIPE. Any pipe which is installed for the purpose of connecting the water mains of the city to the individual premises where water conveyed therein is to be consumed.
WATER MAIN. The part of the water distribution system which is located within the right-of-way lines of the several streets and alleys of the city or within easements on private property which is the property of the city or held and controlled by the city for the purpose of supplying water or fighting fires.
