(A) The following benefit groups are hereby designated for the purpose of determining benefit eligibility conditions and benefit amount:
(1) Benefit group general shall consist of all persons not included in one of the benefit groups which follow.
(2) There are no additional benefit groups as of July 1, 1980.
(B) Benefit eligibility conditions shall be based on the member's benefit group at the time of termination of city employment. Benefit amounts shall be based on the amount of credited service acquired in each benefit group.
