(a) There is hereby established a Mayor’s Alternative Transportation Advisory Council to be composed of twelve (12) individuals nominated by the Mayor of the City of Marietta and confirmed by the Council of the City of Marietta, as follows:
(1) A Representative from Wood-Washington-Wirt Interstate Planning Commission;
(2) A Representative from the Marietta Police Department;
(3) The Development Director of the City of Marietta;
(4) The City of Marietta Engineer;
(5) The City of Marietta Streets Superintendent Foreman;
(6) The City of Marietta Public Facilities Superintendent Foreman;
(7) A Representative from Ohio Department of Transportation;
(8) A Representative from Marietta College;
(9) A Representative from the local business community;
(10) The Marietta City Council Streets Chairperson; and
(11) Two (2) citizens residing in the City of Marietta, Ohio.
The twelve member body shall have seven (7) voting members and five (5) non-voting Ex-Officio members. The voting members shall consist of the Representative from Wood- Washington-Wirt Interstate Planning Commission, the Development Director of the City of Marietta, a Representative from Ohio Department of Transportation, a Representative from Marietta College, a Representative from the local business community and Two (2) citizens residing in the City of Marietta, Ohio. The non-voting Ex-Officio members shall consist of a Representative from the Marietta Police Department, the City of Marietta Engineer, the City of Marietta Streets Foreman, the City of Marietta Public Facilities Foreman and the Committee Chairperson from the Streets Committee.
(b) Mayor’s Alternative Transportation Advisory Council (MATAC) shall serve under the direction of the Mayor of the City of Marietta and shall receive technical support from all departments of the City of Marietta. Members of the Mayor’s Alternative Transportation Advisory Council (MATAC) shall serve without compensation.
(c) The purpose of Mayor’s Alternative Transportation Advisory Council (MATAC) is to provide guidance, advice, input and recommendations to the City Administration and City Council on matters related to planning, projects, improvements, policy and regulations related to alternative transportation systems and pedestrian transportation systems in the City of Marietta, Ohio.
(d) The Mayor’s Alternative Transportation Advisory Council (MATAC) shall elect annually a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary from among its membership to preside over the meetings and adopt such bylaws, rules and regulations for the orderly administration of its business proceedings.
