(a) Intent. It is hereby declared to be the legislative intent of Council, in the enactment of this Chapter, to establish procedures for the handling of a hazardous materials release (spill) within the City of Marietta, including notification to authorities of the hazardous materials release (spill), the actual handling of hazardous materials release (spill), and reimbursement to the City of Marietta and/or its agents, employees or licensees for the handling of a hazardous materials release (spill).
(b) Purpose. It is hereby declared to be the purpose of this Chapter to provide for the handling of hazardous materials releases (spill) within the City of Marietta.
